Public Participation |
Blue Earth subscribes to the International Association of Public Participation core
values for the practice of public participation. These values include providing for citizen participation in decisions that affect their lives and acknowledging that the public participation process promises that public's contribution will influence the decision. This necessitates that the public participation process: |

1) communicates the interests and meets the needs of all participants; 2) seeks and facilitates the involvement of potentially-affected interests 3) involves participants in defining how they participate 4) communicates to participants how their input affected the decision; and 5) provides participants with the information they need to participate in a meaningful way. |
We anticipate major issues associated with projects and seek to identify issues and
concerns from agencies, organizations, and individuals in implementing public
participation for specific projects. We are advocates of the planning and
public participation process, not the project. In that light, we set clear
objectives for public participation and tailor our public participation process
to meet these objectives. Blue Earth staff are trained and experienced
to bring a variety of creative and effective techniques to the public participation
process. |
