Blue Earth Ecological Consultants, Inc. is a small, woman-owned consulting firm established in 1998 and based in Santa Fe, New Mexico.


Blue Earth's mission is to promote conservation of natural resources through comprehensive planning, efficient project management, and application of sound science.  Early identification of important social and natural resource issues is a key element of our approach to planning.


Our knowledge of the natural resources of the Southwest, environmental laws and regulations, and working relationships with other environmental professionals in the government and private sector enables us to provide high-quality services in an efficient, cost-effective manner.


We provide a wide range of ecological and environmental planning
services to a variety of clients including federal and state agencies, private and non-profit organizations, utility companies, private landowners, engineering firms, and local governments.
Some Current Projects
Reintroduction of Sonoran Pronghorn in Arizona
Blue Earth is currently working with an interagency team on an Environmental Assessment for a proposal to establish additional U.S. populations of the endangered Sonoran pronghorn.  The EA is being prepared for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
Monitoring Plan for White Sands Pupfish
Blue Earth recently completed a revision of the monitoring plan for White Sands pupfish, a state-listed threatened species endemic to the Tularosa Basin in New Mexico.  The project was completed for the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish.
